FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

A reservation deposit consisting of the first night's rent, plus tax, is due immediately at time of booking. If a reservation is canceled within 7 days of arrival, payment will be forfeited. Cancelations with less than 14 day notice will result in 50% loss of the total cost of the reservation. If canceled prior to 14 days of arrival a full refund will be given less the $25 cancellation fee. All reservations are subject to a $25 cancellation fee no matter when it is cancelled. Unfortunately we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.

  • How has the D Sands changed and what things should I expect when I book a room from now on?

The management change happened on June 4th, 2022. The units themselves have always been privately owned by individual owners but now the units are able to take on identities of their own. We are not just a motel anymore. These will be privately owned condominiums and will be marketed on all the third party booking sites. The biggest changes guests will notice besides the outward and inward appearances of the units themselves is the process for booking. All guests are required to pay the first nights stay plus taxes at time of booking and will be required to be paid in full 14 days prior to arrival. D Sands Rentals no longer accepts cash. Your check in process will be fully independent. All instructions on how to access your unit are emailed to you directly 7 days prior to your arrival and you will access your unit with a unique code using a keypad on the door of the condo you reserved.

  • Do You Allow Pets?

Unfortunately, per HOA rules, there are no pets allowed here at the D Sands. There is a minimum $250 penalty for bringing a pet to a non-pet unit.

  • What Are Your Typical Hours?

9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Please note that these hours are subject to change.

  • Who Do We Call If We Have An Issue Or Emergency In Our Condo?

If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact us at 541-994-5244 or email us at reservations@dsandsrentals.com. We are unable to answer the phone 24 hours a day, but if you leave a message we will be certain to return your call. We respond very well to text messages, too. Since it is a private rental, we will do our best to address any concerns you might have over the phone, and send someone to help you if additional assistance is absolutely necessary.

  • Do We Need To Bring Our Own Towels And Toiletries?

You'll begin your stay with a starter supply of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, paper towels and coffee. In each bathroom you'll have about four bath towels, two hand towels and four washcloths. You are on your own for toiletries beyond the starter supply. Please bring your own towels for any river activities you pursue.

  • Are There Quiet Hours?

Yes, quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. everyday, and are enforced by the City of Lincoln City. Admittedly, the D Sands is an older building and not entirely soundproof, so sometimes even footsteps can be heard through the ceiling. We ask you to be mindful of how much noise you are making even during regular hours and to be considerate of your neighbors.

  • Can We Check In Early?

Unfortunately, no. We can never agree to let you in early, because a guest will likely be leaving the morning of your arrival, and we need every hour between their departure and the time you get here to have the condo clean and tidy for your enjoyment. Check-in is 4 p.m.

  • Can We Check Out Late?

Likewise, late check outs compromise our ability to have the condo ready for the next guests, so we are unable to let you stay past the contractual end of your rental at 11 a.m. Even if there currently is no guest scheduled to enter the condo on the day of your departure, it is still available for someone else to rent, and often we take same-day reservations.

  • Can We Have Campfires On The Beach?

Yes, grab some wood at one of the grocery stores in town and roast some smores!
